Privacy at Magpie, in plain language
This is a plain-language summary of how Magpie treats your data. A full, formal privacy policy will be published here before sign-up opens, and nothing in it will contradict this page.
The short version
- No bank link is required, today or ever, to use Magpie.
- Magpie only sees what you choose to give it.
- Our AI runs on our servers, not inside your email account, by default.
- We never sell your personal data, and we never share it for advertising.
- Right now, Magpie holds no bank data at all.
- You can delete your data whenever you want.
What Magpie sees
Magpie works with the things you choose to add: an email you forward to your personal Magpie address, a photo of a receipt you snap, or details you type in yourself. That is the whole list. Magpie does not scan your inbox or sit inside your email account by default, and it does not pull data from your bank.
Where the AI runs
When Magpie reads a forwarded email or a receipt photo to fill in the merchant, the amount, and the deadline, that processing happens on our servers. By default it never runs inside your email account or on your other accounts. The AI works only on the items you sent us, nothing more.
What we never do
- We never sell your personal data.
- We never share your personal data for advertising.
- We never require a bank login to use Magpie.
- We never make money by pushing you toward your next purchase. Our business is helping you keep your money.
Bank data: none, today
Right now Magpie holds no bank data at all, because there is nothing to link. If we ever add optional bank connections in the future, they will be strictly opt-in, clearly explained, and this page will say so plainly before anything changes.
The waitlist
While we are pre-launch, the waitlist form on this site does not store or send your email anywhere. To reserve a spot, email us at hello@gomagpie.app. When sign-up opens, waitlist emails will be used only for Magpie launch updates, and you can unsubscribe anytime.
Deleting your data
Your data is yours. Once the app is live, you will be able to delete any item, or your whole account and everything in it, whenever you want. Deletion means deletion, not hiding.
